The search for embroidered polo shirts can be overwhelming.  With hundreds of local companies and thousands of polo shirts to choose from, how do you know which company is right for you?  After selecting a company, then you must get your logo digitized (more on digitizing later).   Read on for help to make the process of buying embroidered polo shirts a lot easier and less stressful.

• What are the polo shirts going to be used for? Different businesses in different industries need different polo shirts depending on what they are going to be used for.  Moisture-wicking golf polos might be perfect for sales people who are out meeting with clients, but does it make sense to spend that much on polos for the office staff?  Maybe it does and maybe it doesn’t. On the other hand, people who work in a warehouse need a polo that will be durable—one that will hold up throughout their shift.  Before you can decide on what polo is right for your needs, you must know who is going to be wearing them and for what purpose.
• What is digitizing? Digitizing is the process of turning artwork into a [.DTS] file for actual embroidering of apparel.  Digitizing typically ranges from between $25-$75 depending on how many stitches in a logo.  Embroidery pricing is based on stitch count.  The more stitches in a logo, the more expensive it is going to be.  Keep in mind that a left chest logo is going to have far fewer stitches than the full back of a jacket…and plan accordingly.
• Unisex or gender specific? Most items these days come in a unisex style and also in a lady’s cut.  However, it is never safe to assume this is the case for all items.  It is best to check whether you can get the embroidered polo shirts in the cuts that you need.
• Want a discount? As is true in most cases in the custom decorating industry, the more items you order the less expensive they will be.  An extra tip is to check with your embroidery company and ask them how many heads their machines have.  For example, we have a six-headed machine and orders are embroidered in lots of 6.  If you order in a factorial that fits your company’s machine you might be able to obtain an extra discount.
