Customized Apparel Purchasing Tips:

Purchasing and deciding on how to customize apparel can sometimes be overwhelming.  Some of the things to consider are the type of garment, the quantity needed, location of the decoration(s), and whether to have items screen printed or embroidered. Following are a few tips to help you choose customized apparel.  Before you order you custom apparel, be sure to read these tips:customized apparel

  1. Plan Your Budget – A budget plan is always the first step in any business dealings. Know how much you can spend on customized apparel so you don’t go overboard buying things you don’t want or need.
  1. Consider the Weather – Before you have shirts or jackets screen printed or embroidered, determine when—the time of the year—you will give away or use the items. Will it be during the spring, summer, fall, or winter? If it’s for the chilly season, you might want to order long- sleeve shirts instead of short. However, if you plan to have your launch day during the summertime, you would best benefit from a moisture-wicking t-shirt instead of a heavy blend or 100% cotton t-shirt. A good rule of thumb to manage inventory and screen set up charges is to place a minimum of one order per quarter or season.
  1. Consider Gender – You should also take into account the gender of your target recipients. Will they generally be male or female? You might want to choose an article of clothing that is appropriate for both guys and dolls. Many of our customized apparel options are available in styles both for men and women.
  1. Select Appropriate Colors – Colors matter. Choose colors that best suit your company name or logo. While it is fun to experiment on different color schemes, you have to be savvy about picking a design that is appealing and eye-catchy. If your company or school has a color scheme(s), stick to it. Leave the alternate logos to the professional teams.

Using this quick checklist can save you time and money in your next custom apparel purchase.  We have heard all the horror stories about getting shirts that don’t fit, unflattering men’s shirts that women are forced to wear, or short sleeve race shirts when the temperature is thirty degrees.  Take a few minutes to think about the purpose of your customized apparel. It will pay off in the long run.
