What: The screen-printing processes is best used when you need a large number of shirts and use a design with only a few colors. Direct-to-garment printing is a better option when you have fewer shirts or many colors.
When: Screen-Printed T-shirts are now year-round for all types of uses. Some of our most popular clients are businesses, schools, 5k races, family reunions, and park districts.
Why: There are numerous reasons why screen-printed t-shirts have become popular. One of the main reasons is they are an inexpensive way to put a logo or slogan on a wearable item to promote one’s brand.
How: Screen printing is a technique whereby a mesh screen is used to transfer ink onto a substrate, except in areas made impermeable to the ink by a blocking stencil. A blade or squeegee is moved across the screen to fill the open mesh apertures with ink, and a reverse stroke then causes the screen to touch the substrate momentarily along a line of contact. This causes the ink to wet the substrate and be pulled out of the mesh apertures as the screen springs back after the blade has passed. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Screen_printing)
